As the 2020 Democratic primary candidates are taking the stage in the fight against Trump and his running for a second term, cartoons are being produced at a rapid rate to criticize and mock these candidates– Bloomberg, Sanders, Buttigieg, Warren, Biden, and Klobuchar. One popular objection I have heard incessantly these past few weeks is the incomprehensible amount of money Bloomberg has put into his election campaign– he has already spent $400 million dollars! In this political cartoon, Bloomberg is depicted haphazardly launching bags of money– money for his “campaign strategy”– into the air through a cannon. This cartoon is pertinent today because his advertisements are appearing EVERYWHERE: billboards, website ads, and even video ads too! Many are using Bloomberg’s net worth ($61.9 BILLION!) against him, as some opponents believe he bought his way to the polls, not worked to get there. I plan to continue searching for more political cartoons in the future, because the closer we get to election day, the more cartoons there will be to enjoy!

Nice cartoon! Easy to follow, and not confusing like a lot of cartoons I seem to find on the internet. Agreed, cartoons are a fun way to stay updated on the 2020 election.

It is crazy that Bloomberg has spent so much money on his campaign. And this spending has impacted me because I used to see all of those ads that he put out. Literally every other ad on YouTube was “Mike gets it done” or “I’m Mike Bloomberg and I approve this message”.
